FLEET ELECTRIFICATION

DESIGN

What are your infrastructure needs?

At any time during a purchase of a diesel truck did the sales rep volunteer to help you create a fueling plan?  Offer a map of the stations along your most travelled routes?  Introduce you to a company that could install a tank and pump onsite?  My guess is probably not.

The biggest difference between buying an EV and a diesel truck is designing the charging infrastructure which is a critical component of electrifying your fleet.  If you need us to, we will connect you with the stakeholders that should be involved in this planning phase.  A retailer such as PACCAR to source the chargers; the local power company to determine if you need an upgrade to handle the increased demand; an electric contractor for installation and permitting; cellular service or Wi-Fi connectivity providers for data collection; and government agencies to help with funding (we’ll cover that next post).  Input is needed from everyone on that list to get the right charger put in the right place.

The design phase might seem overwhelming but the Sales and Parts teams are learning as much as we can about charging so you have the resources needed to design the ideal infrastructure for your fleet.
